Mapping the Migratory Flight of the Kuaka

This task is about the kuaka. They travel far because they bulk up and train for the migration. There breeding grounds/Habitat mostly look like muddy beaches. During their migration, they stop at various locations to refuel and prepare for the next part of their journey. The Kuaka fly approximately 11,000 to 13,000 kilometers non-stop from Alaska to New Zealand for there migration.

An Intresting fact: is that the Kuaka has the longest distance for the Migrations on there Journey.

Another intersting fact: They broke the World record for flying the longest in the air non-stop.

Tamaki River Hikoi

Today our teachers gave us a challenge in to making a collage when walked past the Tamaki River and went to Pt England Reserve to eat our Morning tea and play Sport games over there with our friends. Our teacher asked us before the walk, What would you think Samuel Marsden would see when he arrived to the Tamaki River in New Zealand? What this shows is a sequential order, which is a time order so what we had to was find photos and a collage and put them in a time order. This shows us crossing the road, walking and looking all around us with the scenery Tamaki River across us. Then it shows we took a class photo and carried on walking until we got to Pt England Reserve where we started eating and had a little break looking across the water and we started feeling hot but I went to go play on the park until we walked back to school and made a podcast about a interview with Samuel Marsden with one person being Samuel Marsden and three people as the Host, what I chose to be was Samuel Marsden.

Exploring AI

Last week my class had a challenge to create an alleyway with AI on Adobe Express with words on a Google doc and read what the words were and create what was in the text, the text stated. The alleyway was a narrow, dirty passage between old, decaying buildings. The rain-slicked cobblestones shone under dim gas lamps. Rusty fire escapes clung to the walls. Colorful graffiti covered the brickwork. Dirty puddles reflected laundry hanging overhead. The air smelled of rot and rust, with the sound of gurgling drains. Shadows moved at the edges of sight. A tin can rattled down the alley, followed by silence. The alley held forgotten stories, its stones filled with a sense of sadness. After we were completed our Alleyway AI prompt image, our class downloaded the AI image and put on the slides and explained what you need to work on and what you liked about doing the AI prompt image work. Here is what the Original Alleyway looked like, and here is what I created it into.

Evolution of the NZ Flag

Today LS2 had a challenge to show the evolution of the New Zealands flags on a presentation, it shows what years they were invented and explains about how they were made. What I  really found interesting is that these flags expresses a story because the way it looks and sounds like and also these flags were made by British people. What I also found interesting is that in 1844 the British colonies put the flag as the Union Jack but Ngapuhi Hone Heke came and chopped it down because did not accept it. The part I think I need to work on is to make more slides to have more work and information done.

Expectations

At the start of the 2025 learning year LS2 has a discussion about how we could make the most of our learning time. To be able to do this we expect to bond and communicate so we gain each other’s trust which is called a trust system for LS2.

Sally Sutton

On Wednesday, we got to see the autor Sally Sutton in our hall at Panmure Bridge school she greeted us and started talking about all of her books and she also read us one which was called the cat from the muzzle. Cat from the muzzle is a book that talks about a cat that sally sutton knows and his name is dwayne so she made a story about where he used to be but he ggot tooken and flew to a house but he didn’t like so he escaped the house and travel all the way back to the farm where used to live in. Next after that we asked her some questions and I asked what is the hardest about writing a book and she replied the hardest part about writing is that you got to hope that your books do not get rejected and hope it turns into a real book. Then she said her favourite figurative language was onomatopoeia what that is, is that it is a text in like comic like pow! boom! sloop! and more. Finally, if you want to know about her here it is, Sally Sutton has been writing picture books, children’s novels and plays for two decades. She is celebrated for her witty word play and musical language, which make reading her stories aloud a magical moment between parent and child.

Ownership and Copyright

Kia Ora, Today I made a collage about ownership and copyright, Ownership is where someone owns something and you cannot take it from them. Copyright is a law that protects ideas, like stories, music, and pictures. When someone creates something, like a book or a song, it belongs to them. Copyright stops others from copying or using your work without permission. First we went onto a slideshow and read the instructions, Next we had to make a collage and get images from the link and find the pictures and make the collage. Then when you finish you screenshot it and lastly you have to write about what public domain images is and why we need it. What public domain images is creative material that are not protected by mental property laws such as copyright, trademark, or patent laws. Here is my work
